6 quart Brightroom box
The smallest preset is the Target Brightroom 6 quart box, TCIN 93327180. Brightroom is Target’s house brand. The TCIN is an identifier, not an endorsement, and we are not Target. These boxes are short, the lip is short, and a rack for them is mostly a question of how many you stack before the frame gets tall.
Where the preset rounds the catalog
Published depth is already 13½, and the tool uses that. Published width is 8.12 and published height is 4.62, neither of which is a clean eighth or sixteenth. The preset uses 8 and 4⅝ (4.625) so the cut list is not stuck with hundredths of an inch. The width change is the one to check with a tape if you own the box, because the bay is built from 8 inches plus the lip, not from 8.12.
Lip overhang is 0.75 inch combined, same idea as the Iris preset: about ⅜ inch of lip per side. Height above the lip seat is 0.5 inch. Lipless width is 7.25 inches. Bin-cleat slack defaults to zero so that small lip keeps its full seat on the cleat. Add slack only after you have looked at the contact number and decided the bin still has enough wood under it.

With 1 inch of depth slack the rack is 14.5 inches deep. The white lid is flat compared with a latching tote, but it still has a rim. If boxes live with lids on, measure to the top of the lid. Half an inch of “height above lip” is easy to get wrong on a box this short. That field is what places the cleat.
What to watch on this bin
- You can fit a lot of columns in a short wall because the bin is only 8 inches wide plus the posts and cleats. The outer width in Dimensions is the number to trust. Multiplying 8 by the column count leaves out every upright.
- Rows add up with rails and ½ inch of vertical slack between boxes. A “small” grid is often taller than the boxes suggest. Read the outer height before you assume it fits under a shelf.
- Default cleats are still full 2×4s, 3½ inches tall, under a box that is only about 4⅝ inches tall. The cleat is not too tall for the math (the lip seat is what matters), but it is a lot of wood under a small lip. If you switch to a thinner cleat stock, re-read the warnings. A thinner cleat changes how much of the lip can bear, and the bay width changes with it.
- Many light boxes still tip a rack that is not fastened down, especially if you pull from the top row. The designer does not design that fastener.
How to measure a bin covers the tape. How the rack goes together covers the frames.
