Storage Rack Designer

Terms of use

Last updated October 1, 2026.

These terms are a contract between you and Great Sitkin Technologies LLC (“we,” “us”) covering storagerackdesigner.com and the Storage Rack Designer tool, guides, and related pages (the “site”). If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Read this before you cut wood The site is a free calculator and a set of articles. It is not a promise that a rack will fit your bins, hold your stuff, stand up, or be safe to build or use. You measure, you build, and you take the risk. We make a good-faith effort to keep the math and the presets sensible. We do not guarantee a perfect fit, and we accept no liability for what you build.

What the site is

The designer takes numbers you enter (or a preset you select) and computes dimensions, a lumber estimate, a cut list, a screw count, and a 3D picture of one style of wood bin rack. The guides explain that same style of rack. That is the whole product.

Using the site does not make us your designer, engineer, contractor, or inspector. We have no duty to look at your bins, your lumber, your room, or your finished rack. Output on the screen is not a construction drawing stamped by a licensed professional, and it is not a certification that a rack meets any building code, fire rule, or load rating.

Best effort, not a guaranteed fit

Presets start from published product sizes and from measurements we have taken or chosen as defaults. Real bins differ. Molds vary, lids add height, plastic flexes, and a used bin is not a new one. Lumber is not exact either: a board sold as a 2×4 is not two inches by four inches, and length and straightness vary by piece.

You are responsible for measuring the bins you actually own, for checking the cut list against those measurements, and for test-fitting a bin before you commit the rack. Clearances in the tool (slack, kerf, wastage) are allowances you can edit. They are not a warranty that a bin will slide, seat, or stay seated.

We may change presets, formulas, copy, or the site itself at any time. A result you saw last week may not match a result you see today. Keep your own copy of any cut list you intend to build from.

You assume the risk of building and using a rack

Cutting lumber and assembling a rack can cause serious injury or death, including from saws, fastening, tipping, and collapse. A loaded rack can fall, especially when a bin is pulled out, when weight sits up high, or when the rack is not fastened to a structure. The designer does not model wall anchors, does not rate a safe load, and does not decide whether your floor, wall, or fasteners are adequate.

You assume all risk of building, installing, loading, and using anything based on the site, and all risk of relying on a dimension, preset, picture, screw count, weight estimate, or sentence we publish. That includes risk to you, to other people, to bins and their contents, and to the building the rack stands in.

No warranties

The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim every warranty, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, title, and non-infringement, and any warranty that the site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for your bins or your project.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers. In those places, the disclaimers apply to the fullest extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Great Sitkin Technologies LLC and its members, managers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, or for personal injury, death, property damage, wasted materials, bins that do not fit, or the cost of substitute goods or services, whether the claim is in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other theory, even if we were advised that such damages were possible.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the site or these terms is zero. That includes claims for personal injury, death, property damage, bins that do not fit, and wasted materials.

Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Great Sitkin Technologies LLC and its members, managers, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, damage, liability, and expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the site, a rack or other thing you build or allow to be built from it, your measurements, your content, or your breach of these terms. We may participate in the defense with counsel we choose, at our own expense, without reducing your obligations.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the site. That includes attempting to break or overload it, probing it for vulnerabilities without permission, or using it to violate the law. We may suspend or stop the site, or block access, at any time, with no liability to you.

Third-party names and links

Product names, store names, and SKUs (including Costco, Iris, Target, Brightroom, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Menards) are used so you can identify a bin or a place to buy lumber. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those companies. A link to another site is for convenience. We do not control that site and we are not responsible for it.

Our content

The site’s text, layout, software, and graphics are owned by us or our licensors. You may use the dimensions and cut lists the tool produces for a rack you build or have built for you. You may not copy the site, resell it as your own tool, or remove credits, except as the law allows (for example a short quotation).

If you send us a suggestion, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use it for any purpose, with no duty to pay you or to keep it confidential.

Paid features

The site is free. If we later charge for a feature, we will say so before you pay. These disclaimers and liability limits still apply to a paid feature unless we agree otherwise in a separate writing signed by us.

Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Great Sitkin Technologies LLC is organized, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Subject to the paragraph below, exclusive jurisdiction and venue lie in the state and federal courts located in that state, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

Before filing a claim, you will email [email protected] a short written description of the dispute and give us thirty (30) days to respond. Any claim arising out of the site or these terms must be filed within one (1) year after it accrued, or it is permanently barred, to the extent permitted by law.

To the extent permitted by law, you and we waive any right to a jury trial, and you may bring claims only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective, or representative action. If a court refuses to enforce the class waiver for a particular remedy, that remedy must be severed and pursued in court on an individual basis, and the rest of this section still applies.

Other terms

If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and that provision is modified to the minimum extent required to make it valid. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the site and replace prior agreements about the site. We may assign these terms. You may not assign them without our written consent. There are no third-party beneficiaries.

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. The new version applies from the “last updated” date. If you keep using the site after that, you accept the update. A change does not revive a claim that is already barred.

The privacy policy describes how information is handled. It is part of how we operate the site. These terms control if the two conflict on a question of liability or license.
